Phil Pringle - Owner, Wine ConsultantPhil was born and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma where he was introduced to wine by his family as a teen. Upon graduation from Regis University in 1974, he was appointed manager of the Wine Shop at Colfax and Locust in Denver. He later had a stint as a wine manager at Foothills Discount Liquors and The Winery in Fort Collins. Phil completed graduate business work at CSU and U of Arizona, and took a position as regional manager for Vintage Winehouse of Sacramento, CA from 1978-1980. Phil and his brother John, now residing in California, formed Pringle's Fine Wine & Spirits in 1983. Since that time his concentration has been on growing Pringle's. Phil has served as Food Coordinator for Fort Collins Wine Fest for 22 years, plus as the wine instructor at the Cupboard in Old Town Fort Collins for 14 years. He is Pringle's primary wine consultant. He is also an avid fly fisherman and gardener.

Paul Hart - GM, Fine Wines, Liquor Department
Paul moved to Colorado in the fall of 1976. Fort Collins became his home in 1980 and, like so many of us, he's never left. He began working at Pringle's part-time while attending Colorado State University. After graduation with a B.S. in finance, Paul's career at Pringle's began in earnest and still continues. Growing up with family that owned and operated an independent retail store has provided Paul with decades of experience..."I really enjoy the interaction with the customers." His focus is primarily on the wine side and over the years he has taught, participated in and assisted in numerous educational classes and intructional tastings. Another rewarding part of Paul's job is providing professional group and event planning services. He has worked with many individuals, caterers and also participated in off-site events sponsored by the CSU community. Over the years Paul has been fortunate to work with many gifted people. Bob Freeman - Assistant Manager, Beer, Liquor, and Cigar Departments
Bob is one of those CSU graduates who came to school in Fort Collins and never left. After graduating with a B.A. in political science, he began work at Pringle's in 1987. His evolution into "Bob the Beer Buy" became complete a few years later, when he became the beer buyer. Today, his responsibilities have expanded to include buying liquor, cigars and some wine. Bob's goal for the beer department is to provide customers with the widest selection of beers possible, and he also has developed a special interest in Belgian beers. His interests are not limited to beer, however; he also has a solid understanding of wine and has taken several trips to California Wine Country to expand his knowledge. His most recent contribution to Pringle's was overseeing the buying and implementation of the store's new computer system.
Bob has been married to his wife Amy since 2001. Her English skills were largely responsible for this biography. They have two sons--Ben, who was born in 2005, and Ryan, who was born in 2009. |
